22" x 90" Original, One of a Kind Hand Painted Darcy Rappahannock River Multi Colored Shawl

Starting with a 22x90" silk charmeuse WHITE shawl, this piece has over 40 layers of dye applied in order to create the deep rich purple colors. The silk starts out without any color or design. Visualizing the beauty of the Rappahannock River, I begin to paint the beautiful flow of the river. Loving the river and the energies that it has, the middle of the shawl has the first several layers of light turquoise and cyan leaving space for the islets and outcroppings in the middle of the river. The layers of yellow are applied to the edges of the shawl to start to design the elegant and beautiful flow of the river  Constant flow of the brush creates a subtle elegant blended design after the layers and layers of dye are blended with a purpose to create this one of a kind piece. There are so many ways to wear this beautiful shawl and every way has a different look!!

The dyes are permanent and washable!!
